Lilly's Review:(age 8)
Reading is one of my favorite things to do. I like chapter books the best so I can picture things in my head. When I was little I really liked the picture books. I still remember when I was 3 and I got my very own library card. I was only 3 so I lost it pretty quickly but then I got another one and I still have that one. If you don't have your own library card you should definitely ask your parents for one.

Mom's Notes:
We are so lucky to have 3 fabulous libraries in town. We have always taken advantage of this pastime. It is free for most people unless you are like me and are too scattered to get books back on time but, I like to think of it as donating money to our community libraries. They all have story times, great selection of books for all ages, and a fun way to promote lifelong learning for your little one.

It is especially nice in the winter as a way to get out of the house when everyone is going stir crazy. I highly recommend joining the summer reading program to help keep them reading throughout the summer. For the older ones including parents you can even check out ebooks! You can see all story times for the three libraries here:

Council Tree Library : Council Tree Library is my personal favorite in town for ages 0-5. They have some of the most amazing hands on learning. They thought of everything when they made this library in 2009! I always look like a little gofer at the library. I am doing my best to find books my kids want to listen to and I actually don't mind reading over and over and over. So, as I am searching for books you can see my head pop up every 20 seconds to keep track of the kids.
This library eases your mind with all they have to do for kids while you search for books. The children's shelves are low so you can keep track of the kids easier and the play structure is in easy view. Once you have selected books you can take advantage of the learning opportunities they put into the play structure.

Harmony Library : Harmony Library is attached to Front Range Community College. They have a nice large room by the children's section. It is a nice area to let them play and read aloud. While all the libraries have computers for the kids to play on at this library they are in the separate room, which is nice when you are trying to help them with the mouse and headphones without making a scene. I have been told my voice volume isn't the quietest when giving directions.

Old Town Library : Old Town Library is the best in nice weather. They have a cute little playground outside for before or after you get your books. You also can't beat the location! With all the restaurants and shops Old Town has to offer it is a great place to run all your errands. This library is the only one with multiple floors which is nice if you need a quiet area to study. Personally I also think this is the easiest one to navigate with a stroller.

Jacob Tip:   Libraries are a good way to spend a day - it might sound boring but if you go it's not. You can make friends there too!
