Lilly's Review:(age 8)
Swimming is so much fun. I love diving for toys and water slides. I take lessons through the city at Edora and my teacher Gabby is awesome. We always do fun games I have gotten so good at swimming with no help.

Mom's Notes:
Colorado summers are beautiful and perfect for outdoor swimming. However, if you have kids like mine who want to swim more than 3 months a year then there are also some great indoor pools. The only thing better than watching your kids play in the pool is taking the time to play with them. Luckily, Fort Collins has two indoor public pools and one outdoor. All three are great for different reasons and for different ages. The city also offers swim lessons for all ages and all levels. Considering drowning is still the number 2 killer of children. As a parent it is important that you take every opportunity to prepare your children for proper cannon balls and setting them up for success in marco polo.

Mulberry Pool : This is a fun pool for all ages. It has that great zero entry feature which is perfect for infants wanting to explore the water. The fun water feature including a water slide is great for the older kids. Also, for those families who love having a cannon ball competition there is a 1-meter diving board. Mulberry pool is also popular for birthdays.

I highly recommend visiting this pool which is open year round the water actually isn't too cold if you are a mom like me who prefers warm pools. There are two downfalls to this pool. First it is hard to navigate through the shower room without getting wet if you are just going to watch a swim lesson. Second, it is definitely loud in there with the water feature going and the kids echoing.

JacobsTip: The diving board is the best for practicing different types of jumps!

Edora Pool : This is my preferred indoor pool in town. I think it will be yours too when you take your first step into the warm therapy pool. It is like soaking in a tub. The only downside is that the kids can't go under in this pool due to the jets and safety. But, because it isn't as hot as the hot tub infants and expecting mothers can get in too! Next to this pool there is a children's pool. It is great for toddlers! While there aren't any water features like Mulberry Pool it is easier to keep track of the kids and it is a lot quieter.
There is also a large pool that is fun for the big kids and dad too. We especially love this pool for swimming lessons. However, because it has so many lap lanes they do a lot of swim meets so make sure you check the website for closures especially on the weekend!
JacobsTip: Playing with the jets in the warm pool is a lot of fun. Make sure you bring toys that float so you can see how far the jets can push them!

City Park Pool : You may be like me and feel like you are plummeting to your death but, for some reason kids think it is fun. A 30-foot drop slide does not seem like a nice way to spend a summer day however, the kids like it and I must admit it is fun to watch others do it. This pool is like having a small water park right down the street. In addition to the death drop there is also an open curly slide and for me there is the lazy river.
There is also a nice zero entry baby pool that is separately fenced off which is great because there aren't big kids running in just to make your little one cry. The biggest downfall of this pool is how popular it is as it can be too crowded for my taste. On the upside City Park is right there with the playground, little train, and paddle boats on the lake. I recommend taking the time to go a couple times a summer.
JacobTip: If you pack a lunch and go early you can get a nice spot in the shade which is great because mom will finally lay off on slathering me with sun block for thirty minutes.

Jacob Tip:   If you don't know how to swim very well a few private lessons and you will learn easy quick! It is worth it to do it - makes you more "confidedent".
