Little Adam's Review:
This is awesome, and I don't mean just a little awesome, this is big time awesome!
It was another one of those activities that I didn't think I would like. I mean c'mon - a railroad. Mom took us in the dining cart that served up what she called "fine cuisine." I would call it very good food. I got to choose my meal and eat a delicious dessert. The view of the gorge from the train was something to remember. I took a bunch of pictures.
First off, the lunch was absolutely elegant and delicious. I ordered the salmon with pesto, and it was flavorful and overall delightful - definitely a flavor to please the palate. It was a hard decision choosing between the bourbon chicken, the roasted pork with orzo pasta, the salmon or the grilled vegetable napoleon. I was a little disappointed that I couldn't bring my toddler, but I definitely understand that his presence may disrupt passengers.
It was a very peaceful journey with a brilliant view of the gorge and the rest of what nature has to offer in central Colorado. I look forward to returning for one of the murder mystery train rides. Additionally, I can't wait to take my youngest son on the Santa Express this Christmas. With a display of more than 17,0000 lights, it has to be quite a site to see. The original train in the area dates back to the late 1870s when it was used for mining; however, it wasn't until the 1950s that the train morphed into an attraction to witness the gorgeous scenery.
There is a Murder Mystery Tour, Santa Tour and more...
