Marshall's Review (age 8):
When my mom and dad said we were going to a park, I was really hoping it would have swings and a slidey board. This one was pretty good though. We went to look for shells on a beach and I found some really nice ones. Then, we went for a horseback ride. My horse was the best because she was friendly. She had brown fur and a black swishy tail. I had a lot of fun! We ate lunch and we went to watch people surfing. I want to learn to surf. It looks like a lot of fun.

Mom's Notes:
We stopped at Big Talbot Island Park after visiting friends who were stationed in Jacksonville. The park is actually 7 parks grouped together and each park has different things to do. We spent most of our time at Amelia Island State Park just because of the fact that we have two small children. While at Amelia Island State Park, we took the kids to the beach to look for sea shells. We also made reservations and took them horseback riding. This was by far the children's favorite part of the visit.

We also stopped at Yellow Bluff Historic Park. This park was used during the Civil War by both the Confederate and Union Armies. My husband and I really liked this part of the visit, but the children were more impressed with the wildlife they saw than the encampments.

To end our visit, we went to Little Talbot Island Park and had a picnic. It was not very crowded, but we still made reservations at the picnic grounds. After we ate our lunch, we went to watch the surfers. Little Talbot Island Park is actually one of the best places to surf on the East Coast.
