Daniel's Review:
I really liked feeding the ducks. Just make sure to take plenty of breadcrumbs cuz they eat a lot. The splashpad in the playground was too cool! Actually, the whole playground was pretty awesome. It's divided so us big kids can play without running over or hurting the babies. They have their own place to play. Even kids in wheelchairs were able to play - even in the splash pad - cause most of the swings and stuff is easy for them to get to. Before I knew it, it was time to leave but I didn't want to. My mom promised she would bring me back.

You can try sports here like catching baseball gloves, fraibee, lacrosse sticks or other sports too!

Mom's Notes:
Kids of every age will have a blast at Houston's most beloved public park. Hermann Park is located between Fannin and Cambridge Street. The main entrance is at the intersection of Main St. and Montrose Blvd. Here, a statue of Sam Houston points the way to many of the park's features. The 445-acre green space is home to the Houston Zoo, Houston Garden Center, The Japanese Gardens, Miller Outdoor Theatre, Houston Museum of Natural Science, Hermann Park Golf Course, McGovern Lake and the Buddy Carruth Playground.

There is plenty to do for free such as feeding the ducks on McGovern Lake, enjoying an outdoor movie or show at the Miller Outdoor Theatre, playing in the splash areas or exploring the forest trails in the Bayou Parkland area. There are over a dozen fountains, monuments, sculptures and other points of interest scattered throughout the park.

For those seeking out unique birthday celebrations, the park offers a private train ride package complete with cake, party supplies, happy birthday train banner and happy birthday song. The park also offers additional venues for private events.

There is plenty of free parking and the Metrorail makes three stops near the park. Weekends are crowded, so taking the metro may cut down on trying to find a parking space.
