Jacob's Review:
This is the best place, my favorite to go to! You get to see all sorts of animals, from chimps and rhinos, to cute little meerkats. They even had dinosaurs when we went! There were all kinds of dinosaurs and lots that used to live in Texas a long, long time ago. It was kind of scary, but really, really cool!

Make sure you look at the zoo schedule! Sometimes the zookeepers will give a talk! I got to see a woman feed bats, it was so cool!

Dad's Notes:
The Houston Zoo is always a fun, family oriented place to visit, especially in the cooler fall months. The animals are varied and very well cared for, which can be seen in how healthy and active they are in their enclosures. There are all sorts of exhibits to explore, including an aquarium, an elephant habitat, and a beautiful bird garden. When we visited, they even had a dinosaur exhibit scattered through out the entire zoo grounds, many of which moved and made noise. Some even spat water! This is a rotating exhibit, so there's a high chance it will be seen again. The zoo also has a brand new 'Africa' section that is a certain hit with the kids as well as the built in water park.

The Houston Zoo is a beautiful, well kept zoo that is accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums and does well in its mission to foster appreciation, knowledge, and care for the natural world. Exhibits are lovely and well maintained and the zoo actively promotes wildlife conservation. Educational tours are offered, as well as overnight excursions for certain groups. Events, ranging from weddings and birthday parties to corporate events are available. They even sell artwork created by many of the animals at the zoo, from parrots, to orangutans, to the resident jaguar!
