Jacob's Review:
You get to swim & ride in a boat sometimes! There are campgrounds there with fishing, and boating. The coves and little bay areas are really cool; they go way back and have cool cliffs and stuff. We lost a red and yellow Inner-tube that I would ride in, so if you see it, get it for me please!

Dad's Notes:
In 1954, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers constructed Belton Dam, thus creating Belton Lake. Belton Lake is a 12,300-acre lake located on the Leon River. Belton Lake is a long, narrow and winding lake with many curves and coves, providing some of the best camping, fishing and boating in central Texas.

Belton Lake - deeper and bigger than Stillhouse, offers a great number of coves and inlets for those on boats. It's rumored that there are caves in this area, also some good rock climbing. Water-skiing and boating is one of the great adventures that Texas offers! Owning a boat can get a bit expensive - but everyone should rent one on occasion and go out on the lake! Hunting, fishing, camping, boat ramps and Marina are but just a few of the activities available to you here!

Before you head off for a fun day of boating and/or swimming, check with the park to verify that the boat ramp and/or swimming areas are open, as some have been closed due to low water levels. Belton Lake office: 254.939.2461

1 Westcliff Park: I like that many of the camping sites are near the water which allows you to beach or anchor your boat near your camp site instead of having to go to the other side of the park to use your boat. There are 27 campsites with water and electric at them and 11 sites for primitive tent camping. The campsites are open year round but the park/ boat ramp is open from 6am-9pm for day use. There are restrooms with showers, a two lane boat ramp, beach and playground at this park. A nice place for a day outing or overnight camping.

2 Live Oak park: This park has a lot of large oak trees that provide a nice shady area on a hot day. There are 48 campsites with water and electric at them and you can bring your RV or just a tent. The campsites are open year round. There are restrooms with showers, a dump station, a boat ramp, camper activity center- with free wireless internet for you to use with your Wi-Fi capable computer, laundromat and playground at this park.

3 Cedar Ridge Park: This park offers 68 campsites with water and electric hook-ups. They also have 8 overnight shelters (cabins) that you can rent. The park has restrooms with showers, two dump stations, camper service center- with free wireless internet for you to use with your Wi-Fi capable computer, laundromat, group meeting area, fishing dock, two boat ramps, beach, playground, basketball court, group picnic shelters for up to 100 people, volleyball courts, horseshoe pit. There's even a group camping area with a group picnic shelter and 10 spaces for RVs or tents.
The park is open from 6 am- 10 pm for day use
Also located within this park is Pier 36 Marina- They offer boat slips for rent, a snack bar/convenience store, gas, and a restaurant.

4 Winkler Park: This is a small secluded park with 14 campsites for RVs or tents, with water only. The park has restrooms with showers. You have to stop at White Flint Park to pay the fee and this is also where you can use the dump station and boat ramp, it's about a mile from Winkler Park.

5 McGregor Park: The park is being upgraded to make it better. For now, this is a day use park with 7 picnic sites and water access. There are no water or electric hookups at the sites. The park has vault restrooms (which are very similar to an outhouse or port-a-potty) and a boat ramp in the shallow area of the lake. There is no fee to use this park.

6 Iron Bridge Park: This park has a two lane boatramp with free access 24hrs/day, however, the ramp is very shallow and boats bigger than a 14 foot flat bottom boat cannot launch at this ramp. This park has 5 picnic sites with no water or electric, that can be used for primitive camping also. The park has vault restrooms (which are very similar to an outhouse or port-a-potty). There is no fee to use this park.

7 White Flint Park: This park offers 13 campsites with water and electric hook-ups. They also have 12 overnight shelters (cabins) that you can rent. The campsites are open year round. There are restrooms with showers, a two lane boat ramp at this park.

8 Owl Creek Park: This park has 10 picnic/primitive camping sites with shade, but no water or electric hookups. There are restrooms, and a 2-lane boatramp with free access 24hrs/day.

9 Leona Park: This park offers a 2-lane boat ramp with free access 24hrs/day.

10 Rogers Park: This park offers a 2-lane boat ramp with free access 24hrs/day.

11 Temple Lake Park: This park is a day use park with 62 picnic sites. It also offers a beach, restrooms with showers, basketball court, volleyball court, a pavilion for large groups, a playground and two 2-lane boatramps. The north ramp, with 24hrs/day access and the south ramp with access from 6:00am-9:00pm daily.
