Salado Street Walk
Antiques, Wine, Glass Making and Fine Dining!

They have a lot of shopping places with some neat old stuff and some nice paintings stores. In the river, I saw some kids swimming and a statue of a mermaid, but it wasn't a real mermaid.
Best way to describe Salado may be - Antiques & Atmosphere!
When you have friends or relatives visiting or you want a nice getaway for yourself, Salado is a great weekend experience. Salado regularly hosts Art Fairs and Festivals. There are a numerous mix of antique and modern curio shops, clothing shops, cafes, coffee houses and Art Galleries and even a winery. There are so many things to look at that you may decide to stay at one of the local Bed & Breakfasts or at the Stagecoach Inn so that you can relax and come back the next day to finish meandering through the shops.
Some of our favorite things include the great Texas BBQ @ Cowboy's BBQ (Dad's all-time favorite restaurant)! We also enjoy the fresh jerky at Robertson's. We used to enjoy the great dining at the Salado Mansion, but it's closed; someone should buy it and reopen it. Another favorite of ours is to walk through the college ruins!
When you have finished meandering through the shops, there is a museum across the street from the historic Stagecoach Inn (yep, they have a real Stagecoach) and this is the same stagecoach inn that was in operation back when stagecoaches came through here or you could tour the area and see the numerous stone mason and other buildings from the 1860's.
