My Mom, Dad and me, went to the Haunted Orchestra. I got to wear my Spiderman outfit, the one with the muscles. All the kids had on costumes and there was a giant costume parade. The orchestra played spooky music, but it did not scare me. My favorite instrument is the buffoon. It is called a wind instrument, because you have to blow into it really hard. I had a good time, but my costume was too hot.
The DSO Family Series is fun for the entire family. We attended The Haunted Orchestra, and it was amazing. There was a costume parade for all the children. The orchestra played fun Halloween style music, which was full of surprising sounds and exciting moments for the children.
The Dallas Symphony Orchestra 2011-2012 series has the complex music of Rachmaninoff and Tchaikovsky, in contrast to the music of Warner Brothers' Bugs Bunny. I thought this was an incredibly diverse and fun selection. The DSO mission is to bring symphony music to the Dallas area; providing diverse concerts and opportunities for musical instruction for children. Their mission really impressed me.
There are two restaurants inside the Meyerson Symphony Center, the Opus and the Allegro. We had dinner at the Allegro, because it has a buffet style and foods children enjoy. We are looking forward to the Family Christmas Special in December. I would recommend the DSO, as a very family-friendly destination.
