Daniel's Review:
The blue guy was so cool! I yelled as loud as I could and my mom covered her ears. Blue's my favorite color. The horses ran really fast and there was a bird, too. I ate with my hands and didn't get in trouble! I want to fight like they did when I get older. They used swords.

Mom's Notes:
I really felt like I was pulled back into the 11th century. We were served a delicious dinner without silverware. And, although I could have used more napkins, I still enjoyed it. I was completed riveted, watching the horses fly across the stage, watching the falcons fly, listening to the clang of the swords and splintering spears during the jousting tournament. I think I could go back every month and still not see everything that was available. It wasn't just a series of battles, either. There was also a delightful romance that made me really feel like I was invested in the outcome.

It was almost disorienting to step back outside and into the current century. I loved the historical aspect of this activity and I would go back to experience it again in a heartbeat. I felt like I was really a participant in a joust. But, maybe next time, I'll be cheering for the winning knight. The kids didn't seem to care, though. Going back is still all they can talk about - and it's been a week!

Jacob Tip:   Get there early so you don't miss anything and get the best seats! If you sit up close, you can see the knight's faces when they fight and you can see the horses stirring up dirt. There are other cool things in the castle, too.
